AWARDS FOR BEST FILM SOUND 🏆
Sound in film is more than just a technicality for me; it is an invisible, yet extremely important, narrator of the story. I am honored that this conviction of mine has been recognized by the expert jury of the Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA).
For my work on the films "The Auschwitz Report" (2022) and "The Ballad of Piargy" (2023), I received the nationally prestigious "Slnko v sieti" Sun in a Net National Film Award for Best Film Sound. These achievements incredibly motivate me and push me towards further innovative pursuit of the perfect sound for your projects.
The Bohumír Brunclík Award 🏆
The Czech Film and Television Association (FITES), in cooperation with its partners, has decided that as part of the AUDIOVISUAL TRILOBIT AWARDS 2026, a new award of Bohumir Brunclík for Best Sound Design in Film will be presented, in collaboration with the Protective Association of Sound Engineers–Authors (OAZA).
The jury praises the precise and dramaturgically strong sound design in movie Duchoň. Special recognition goes to the creators (Juraj Baláž, Martin Jílek and Peter Hilčanský ) for thier innovative yet responsible use of AI as an assistive tool, applied within ethical boundaries that respect personal rights and Karol Duchoň’s artistic performance.
The film Duchoň sets the bar not only in the field of sound craftsmanship, but also in the culture of working with new technologies: it shows that ethical standards can be upheld even before they are formally written down, and that this is precisely the definition of professionalism.
